Cricket cell phones are becoming one of the most popular options worldwide. If you've purchased one of their calling plans, you may wonder how to activate a used Cricket cell phone, however, the process is actually very simple!

First, make sure your phone is charged overnight. This will ensure the battery is fully operational. Then you need to be sure that you've signed up for a Cricket plan. You can do this online at their website or at a Cricket location. Once you've signed up for a plan, you'll need your driver's license number or Social Security number to activate a used Cricket cell phone.
Then, from a different phone call their Customer Service number, 1-800-CRICKET, with your information. The operator will give you the new 10-digit Mobile Identification Number (MIN), and your new 10-digit Mobile Telephone Number. You will also get a Cricket System ID Number. Be sure to write down all these numbers carefully!
You then need to program your phone. Turn it on, then dial *228 and press the send key. You will get voice prompts asking you for the above information. If this fails, turn your phone off and then back on again. You should be in the programming mode, so enter ##626*. You will be prompted to enter a subsidy code; enter 333333. Press the OK button and enter your 10-digit phone number. Then scroll down to enter your MIN. Press OK.
These steps should activate a used Cricket cell phone. If you're still having trouble, try the 800 number again, or call their customer service number and they will be happy to walk you through the process. And of course you can always go into a Cricket store or location and have a customer service rep help you with activation!
